Prairie Meadows Donates $140,000 to the William G. Stowe Foundation
Legacy Grant will help fund the Knowledge Walk at Des Moines Water Works Park

 August 19, 2025 – Des Moines. Prairie Meadows recently awarded the William G. Stowe Foundation a Legacy Grant totaling $140,000. The grant will help fund the Prairie Meadows Knowledge Walk that is part of Water Curia, an art installation and outdoor classroom coming to Des Moines Water Works Park in 2026. The William G. Stowe Foundation has raised over $2.1 million to install Water Curia and its related educational efforts.

Prairie Meadows is a nonprofit organization dedicated to lessening the burden of government by promoting economic development, jobs, agriculture, and tourism in the state of Iowa.

Prairie Meadows grant adds environmental learning opportunities to Des Moines Water Works Park

“The William G. Stowe Foundation has commissioned internationally renowned artist Jordan Weber to design Water Curia, a striking piece of art that will function as an outdoor learning space,” said Amy Beattie, Foundation Director. “Prairie Meadows’ grant allows us to create a Knowledge Walk that will lead visitors to Water Curia by way of an environmental and water learning journey. The Prairie Meadows Knowledge Walk will add to the beauty found in the park while engaging students and park visitors.”
